EatMe.io Review: A Multiplayer Arena Game By Junglee Games

Gameplay

EatMe.io a pvp game where you you control a fish which is thrown into an watery arena and your goal is to feed your fish as many eggs as possible. Which will make your fish bigger and bigger, in order to eat fish controlled by other real life players that were thrown in the same ”pit” as you. Every session lasts for 2 mins and you need to eat as many opponents as you can and gain points that place you in a leaderboard. Depending on your ranking you get different prizes such as in game currency and items, needed for upgrading your fishes.

Controls

Controlling your fish can be done by either tapping on the screen or by operating a virtual thumbstick. On the left of your screen are your fish skills which you can activate them by tapping the respective icons. Although the controls are simple, the response is laggy and the bad framerate (game was tested on ipad 4) hinders the whole game enjoyment by a lot. Needs to be fixed asap!!!

Graphics and User Interface

The graphics are nice, childish though but good. Nice and clear User Interface combined with a good tutorials will guide you through your first steps until you are ready to go by your own.

Sound and Music

The overall experience from the Music aspect was ”meh”, dont be discouraged though I didn’t expect something better, neither should you.

Social Features and In Game Store

The game offers the basic social features most modern games have. There are quests and daily missions, you can add your real life friends and try beating their score and nice tournaments which offer much bigger rewards compared to the 2min sessions. An in game shop is present too where you can exchange in game currency with various upgrades or buy premium currency in order to hasten your in game rewards.

Replay Value and Fun Factor

Although this game is fun to play with nice mechanics and a solid leaderboard system that can keep you invested on it, the clunky controls and the bad optimization makes it frustrating. If these two things get fixed it will be a decent game.

The trailer was well done
