New Online Game Jam Focused On The Growing Global Resistance Movement Will Launch on March 3rd.


LOS ANGELES—February 9, 2017—Resist Jam, a new online game jam focused on creating positive change on a global level was officially announced today. Organized by a group of experienced game developers and IndieCade, the game jam is in direct response to the increasing authoritarianism happening around the world.

“Our objective is to harness the creativity of indie developers from around the globe and get as many people making games as possible”, said Tyler Coleman of Retora Games and one of the founders of Resist Jam. ”We will have online workshops before the jam and around-the-clock support from expert mentors in all fields of game development. Diverse and inclusive gamedev is the best gamedev”.

Resist Jam will be partnering with IndieCade, a leading voice in the indie game space, best known for their series of international events showcasing indie game talent.  Stephanie Barish, IndieCade’s founder and CEO stated, “When we were approached by Tyler and Damon Reece about supporting Resist Jam, we knew it was the right thing to do. IndieCade’s mission is about diversity and inclusivity and we know that our community will enthusiastically embrace this initiative”.

The jam will launch on March 3rd and all games will be available on, the open marketplace for indie games. All proceeds from the sale of the games will be split between various global charities.

DATES: The game jam will run between March 3rd-11th (between GDC and SXSW).

WHERE: Online. We’re using’s excellent game jam hosting system with support from IndieCade and staff.

GAMES: We’re aiming to support at least two hundred participants, and are encouraging jammers to create games about diverse topics focused on tolerance, global freedom and peaceful resistance.
